REIKI
Healing with Reiki hands on approach is a healing modality that uses Universal life force energy to heal in a safe non-intrusive manner. The healing energy of Reiki channels to wherever it is needed in your body. It shifts emotional and physical blockages that may have been causing emotional upset or illness.
HOW DOES REIKI WORK?
We are alive because of the Ki (life force) flowing through us. This life force nourishes and supports our body and its vital functions. When the flow of life force is blocked it limits the body’s ability to heal (mentally, physically and spiritually).
Reiki heals by unblocking the energy channels and charging the system with Ki energy. It clears and heals the energy pathways allowing the life force to flow in a healthy, natural and balanced way, supporting the body’s innate ability to heal itself. When we are healthy, our energy body is in a state of energetic balance. When there is an imbalance we are more susceptible to illness and disease,
WHAT CAN BE TREATED WITH REIKI?
Reiki has a positive effect on all illness and negativity. From minor things like headaches, tension, colds and anxiety, to serious illness. Reiki can reduce the side effects of medication and medical treatments such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy treatment and works well in reducing post-operative pain. Mostly Reiki brings about a reduction of stress to the system that enables natural healing to occur.
Many people gain improvements in energy levels, mood and sleep patterns. Often there is an experience of deep relaxation and a sense of peace and well-being. Reiki is often used in conjunction with conventional and complementary medicine. Reiki works alongside medical treatment and one should ALWAYS consult a medical professional in addition to receiving Reiki.
Reiki practitioners DO NOT provide diagnosis of illness.
Reiki can also be used to treat animal and is useful for cleansing, clearing and protection from negative energies.
HOW IS REIKI GIVEN?
Treatments are usually given with client lying down, although there are also other methods for seated and distance healing. I will use light touch with cupped hands to focus the energy to energy centers of the body or to any point of the body that is experiencing physical pain. There are a number of positions on the body that are generally used in treatment sessions, plus using my intuition I may focus on certain areas. You may notice the heat in my hands will increase throughout the session. Treatments vary in length (usually 45-60 minutes).

You don’t need to be ill to benefit from Reiki – although regular sessions can help keep your body, mind and spirit in harmony.
Reiki sessions can be booked for yourself, your partner, your family, loved ones or friends and even your pets. It makes a great gift for that special someone.
If you, or someone you know, is suffering or is in pain then a series of Reiki Healing sessions could prove very beneficial (3 sessions within a 10 day period for best results).
Reiki can also help prepare people for an operation, reducing stress and anxiety, as we know that stress and anxiety delays the body’s healing process but also increase post-operative pain.

Preparing yourself for a Reiki session (hands-on or distance).
Wear comfortable loose clothing, remove all jewellery, belts and shoes.
Be well hydrated and empty bladder prior to starting.
I will give a short questionnaire form before we start to determine areas that may need extra healing.
During the treatment, you may become quite tearful when certain areas are being treated, this is normal and a good release for the body, just go with it.
