Hastings Fire Brigade

The CFA (Country Fire Authority) is a volunteer and community based fire and emergency service, protecting 3.3 million Victorians and one million homes every day and night of the year.

Hastings is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on the western side of Western Port Bay between Tyabb and Bittern. Hastings forms part of Western Port Group, which is part of District 8.

Hastings has a great role in supporting the community in preventing incidents which could include structure fires, grass fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials and various other types.

Members also could be asked to respond to incidents outside the area including all parts of Victoria and other states. Hastings has a large industrial area to provide protection to sites such as Bluescope Steel, ESSO Long Island Point Gas Fractionation Plant and a large marine and shipping infrastructure.

Our volunteers train regularly to maintain our qualifications, working in the local community to reduce risk and undertake pre-planning, fire prevention and community education.

We respond to fires, road accidents, industrial/chemical incidents and rescues. We are on call 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
