Happy Rompers Day Care Centre

At Happy Rompers we are open from 7.30 am - 6.30 pm.

We will be open for 52 weeks of the year, only closed for weekends and public holidays.

We provide all meals and nappies while your child is attending the centre.

We cater for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years of age.

Happy Rompers is a 2 room centre, these rooms are divided into 0-2yrs and 3-5yrs.

Our Philosophy
We aim to provide a positive learning experience by ensuring emotional wellbeing, physical safety and security of children in the child care environment. Children will be encouraged to develop socialisation skills, independence, and a positive self esteem through regular observations and programming to provide children with opportunities to gain these skills. Our experienced teaching staff recognises that each child has an individual pattern of timing for reaching different developmental milestones. Children are encouraged to think for themselves, to make decisions, to work towards their own solutions and express their own ideas and feelings. We recognise and foster an active partnership between the home and the centre.

We believe in the importance of play
Through make-believe play and social interactions there are many chances for children to further develop their learning and development. It is recognised by many theorists that children’s mental, language and social development are supported and enhanced through these interactions. It is estimated that “a 2-3year old spends 10-20% of their time engaged in different dramatic play activities”. During this time children explore different roles and behaviours, they extend their thinking through trial and error and gain new concepts and understanding of the world they live in. The child uses these play experiences to express their thoughts and emotions by using their central ideas (thoughts) and external actions to create meaning for themselves and others. During make believe play children are constantly shaping and reshaping his or her concepts that they are provided with and use them to create their own views of the world
