Hamra Centre Library

Hamra Centre Library is part of the West Torrens Library Service which provides the community with a range of events, activities, projects and services.

The West Torrens Library Service is operated by the City of West Torrens and consists of a main branch (located at the Hamra Centre) and the Mobile Library Service. The West Torrens Library Service provides a variety of outreach programs and community services.

As of October 3, 2013 our service joined the.South Australian Public Libraries' 'One Card' network. This network has been gradually introduced across South Australia in order to connect all Public Library catalogues together. This means you are able to search and borrow items from other participating libraries as well as items already available at West Torrens.

Items include:
Books, e-books, magazines, e-magazines, DVDs, CDs, audio books, graphic novels, large print materials, community language items, independent living equipment, toys, board games, sporting equipment and much more!

Ongoing Programs:
Baby Time, Toddler Time, Story Time, school holiday programs, book clubs, basic IT training, knitting group, movie nights, English classes, Justice of the Peace service and more.

The Hamra Centre Facebook site provides information about upcoming events and activities, projects, important news updates and links to interesting and useful information.

What you can expect from us
Our page is monitored and maintained 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

We welcome your comments and questions and will reply to queries as soon as we can, however sometimes there may be a delay if we need to seek additional advice to respond to your query. It is important to us that we respond to you in a timely manner and, where possible, we will aim to respond to you within 24 hours (with the exception of weekends).

All comments and posts will be moderated by Council staff and language filtering programs will be used to block certain words. Therefore, there may be some time delay in posts appearing on our site.

What we expect from you
In order to ensure our page is friendly and welcoming for all visitors we ask that you:

• Be respectful of others and their opinions.
• Do not harass, abuse or threaten other visitors to the site.
• Do not post comments that are likely to offend or defame others in any way.
• Please post in English only. Posts in languages other than English may be removed.
• Do not use obscene or offensive language.
• Do not post repeat comments continuously.
• Do not post information which is factually inaccurate and may mislead others.
• Do not promote anything that may constitute as spam, such as commercial interests, solicitations, advertisements or endorsements of any non-governmental agency.
• Do not reveal personal or sensitive information about yourself or others (including elected members or Council staff).

Any comments or posts that violate these terms will be deleted. Repeat offenders will be banned from the Hamra Centre Library Facebook page.
