Hampton Community Kindergarten

At Hampton Community Kindergarten, we aim to provide a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment that will:
Support children towards developing their self-assurance, independence and self-esteem, which in turn fosters a confidence in making decisions and choices.
Encourage social skills, including communication, co-operation and abilities in resilience – important skills for later in life
Inspire and motivate each child’s natural willingness to explore their world through investigation, developing early language and mathematical skills.

As part of our program, teachers’ encourage, guide and support all children, providing opportunities to explore processes and concepts in turn developing physical and cognitive skills. These opportunities encourage the development of a positive disposition towards learning while at play, through joining in games; songs and movement; sharing stories; construction; solving problems and trial and error or documenting information through symbols and words or illustrations.

Within our Kindergarten community we endeavour to work in collaboration with parents, recognising each child’s family as the primary influence in their learning and development. During each family’s time within the Kindergarten we aim to listen to, value, nurture and guide each child growing in their development and understanding of themselves and environment.

Through hands on opportunities to investigate and explore as individuals and members of larger groups, we support each child on their journey to become independent inquirers and communicators, providing the necessary foundations and guidance from the unknown to the known.

The Victorian Early Years Learning Development Framework as well as the National Quality Framework, of which the learning outcomes include Identity, Community, Wellbeing, Learning and Communication, underpins our entire program.
