George Moutafis, four time Victorian State Taekwondo Champion and three time Australian National Taekwondo Champion all achieved while in his late 40’s, is now opening a brand new fitness studio in the heart of Mooroopna. At 47 years old, George is still training hard and competing at an elite level. He is now offering his knowledge and services to people of all age groups and abilities who wish to achieve their own personal goals.

The fitness industry is starting to move away from traditional weight machines as working muscles in isolation does not replicate how our body moves in our day-to-day environment. As such, the Functional Fitness Studio is looking at a whole body movement exercise package that facilitates our body’s everyday movements and concentrates on building core strength.

Our slogan, “Move the Way You Live” is a summary of this principle, training our body’s to better cope with the everyday stress’s that we encounter and place upon it

Available Training Packages

1. Personal Training Sessions.
What is Personal Training?

When an individual has a specific goal that they wish to achieve and they want the motivation, direction and education to achieve their goal and have fun doing it, they can hire a Personal Trainer. This will include:

• Interview & Goal determination
• Posture assessments, both static and dynamic
• Range of movement assessments
• Fitness assessments
• Personal exercise program to maximise goal attainment
• Reviews

This can be done on a One on One basis or to save money, if you want your sessions shared with friends: Two on One; Three on One. Minimum Bookings of 10 Sessions per person.

2. Cardio Classes with TRX Suspension Training & Step Classes

What are Cardio Classes ?

These classes are designed to work your heart, lungs and blood transport system. The sessions are designed to work your body at a high intensity over short periods. As everyone’s abilities are different, classes are designed to cater for athletes and beginners simultaneously as the majority of exercises are time based, rather than repetition based. Its a great way to lose weight and improve cardiovascular fitness. Combine this with some suspension training to assist in building core strength; you get a great all round workout. Available Monday to Friday mornings and afternoons. $140 for 10 sessions

3. Lunchtime Cardio Classes

These Cardio classes are run from 12:00 to 12:45 Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
$100 for 10 Sessions.

4. Boot Camps

What is a boot Camp?

Boot camps originated from military style training sessions that were often excessively intense and only catered for elite participants. In our days they have become a fun social event that combines cardio and endurance training. In the warmer months, these will be held outdoors in local parks and in the colder months they will be set inside the studio. These are designed as a 5 week program, 3 sessions per week, where the intensity of the training gradually increases over time, thus consistently challenges the individual. Sessions are held at 6.00am to 7.00am Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. $220 for 15 sessions.

5. Kids Games and Fun Hour

Designed to encourage children to exercise even if they do not know they are doing it. Add a sprinkle of Taekwondo Basics (totally non contact) and the little tackers will be ready for bed when they are done. Sessions are held Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 4.00pm to 5.00pm. Designed for children aged between 7 and 15 years old. $80.00 for 10 sessions.
