Guthi SA

Guthi SA is a community based, non-profit organisation registered in Adelaide South Australia. We were established in 2015. This goal being preserving and promoting Newari culture, traditions, cuisine, music, art, dance, language and festivals; for the purpose and the aim of bringing and providing a quality replication of Nepali-Newari norms, traditions and values to Australia. Our organisation is completely driven by dedicated volunteers. We are a non-profit organisation which is focused on providing various Nepali-Newari cultural activities for our youngest generation in our society, particularly focusing on the new generations of Nepalese who have been born and brought up in Australia, by providing learning opportunities of our Newari language, lipi, traditional art, music and dance.

Furthermore, we organise various kinds of cultural community events related to Nepali-Newari culture and cuisine. Our goal is to educate and promote our cultural heritage and traditions to the younger generation of Nepali who were born here in Australia and also more broadly, to the international communities residing here in Australia and the growing Nepali community at large. Our yearly calendar of activities and events showcases our culture and traditions to the Australian community.

All of our cultural activities and events are directly focused to promote Nepal and its cultural heritage. We believe that if we make Nepali Newari cultural heritage familiar here in Australia it will significantly help to promote tourism in Nepal, in particular, cultural tourism.
