Dr Peter Southall completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree at Bristol University, his Fellowship in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow and his Master of Dental Science in Orthodontics at the University of Leeds. He completed the Diploma in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons in London in 1987.

Peter is a specialist orthodontist, a full member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO), the World Federation of Orthodontics, the Australasian Cleft Lip and Palate Association, and is a foundation member of the Oral Health Centre at the University of Western Australia. He has previously been Federal Secretary of the ASO as well as Federal Councillor, and has held many positions in ASO (WA) including President and Secretary.

Peter has been an orthodontist since 1991 and established a specialist orthodontic practice in Perth in 1992. Since 1997 he has also been a consultant at Princess Margaret Hospital and has a special interest in treating children with facial clefts and other anomalies. He is active in research and teaching, and has lectured nationally and internationally on several occasions. Peter is committed to state of the art technology and continuing education to ensure his patients benefit from the highest level of knowledge, and he is a keen participant in meetings and conferences in Australia and overseas.

Peter and Fleur have been married since 1995 and they have three children, Edward, Maddie and Emma. After selling his Perth practice, Peter and his family moved to Brisbane in 2010 to be near Fleur's family. Peter has continued to consult and mentor in the Perth practice subsequently.

Peter will be opening a new specialist orthodontic practice at Orion Shopping Centre, Springfield in April 2012.

Dr Lachlan Crowther qualified as a dentist in 2002 with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland and obtained his Master of Dental Science in Orthodontics from the University of Sydney in 2008.

Lachlan is a specialist orthodontist, a full member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO) and The Australasian Orthodontic Board. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and The Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Lachlan is an active member of the dental profession. He is the current treasurer of the Queensland branch of the Australian Society of Orthodontics and is a member of the Australian Dental Association’s continuing education committee.

Lachlan practised as a general dentist in the town of Longreach for three years where he was employed by Queensland Health as the Senior Dentist for the Central West region. It was here that he developed his interest in orthodontics through his work in the school dental service.

Following the completion of his specialist qualifications he worked as an orthodontist in a busy Sydney practice which also serviced the town of Dubbo.
Lachlan returned to his home town of Brisbane in 2010 to commence specialist orthodontic practice. He established Edge Orthodontics in the same year in the suburbs of Coorparoo and Springfield Lakes. In 2012 he joined Peter Southall to form Greater Springfield Orthodontics. Together they have been able to create a practice which offers an orthodontic service to the blossoming community of Springfield and its surrounding areas which is second to none.

Lachlan has a keen interest in the latest technologies in orthodontics. He has a particular interest in adult orthodontics and aesthetic appliances. Lachlan is a Lecturer in Orthodontics at the University of Queensland Dental School. He has been instrumental in the introduction of lingual orthodontics to the postgraduate students. Lachlan has also lectured to various study clubs in the Brisbane area.
Lachlan is a Give a Smile™ Orthodontist. He volunteers to treat patients selected from the public orthodontic waiting lists throughout Australia.

Lachlan is a keen triathlete and is a member of the Southbank Triathlon Club. 2012 will a big year for Lachlan as he is getting married in October to his fiancé Angie.
