Great Southern Pits

Great Southern Pits ( GSP) was developed by Ben Tyler ( a local builder) who's passion for food lead him down the path of combining his love of construction and slow cooked meat.
Ben engaged the hands of a skilled boilermaker ( Jeremy Prior) to help develop a range of Offset pit smokers that suits the Australian way of life.
The number one criteria for our designs was Quality!. From the casters right up to the flu these units are superbly hand crafted.
The main cooking chambers and fire boxes are made from 6mm plate steel hand painted with heat rated paint that will tolerate temperatures of up to 600c.
Beautifully finished with Spotted gum. ( one of the few Australian timbers that has it own fire rating within the construction industry)

GSP also wanted to focus on local jobs, local suppliers and on Australian made. We could have imported our pits and have them re bagged or even made in China, like many of the current suppliers who have jumped on the Low and Slow band wagon.
But you can be assured that when you buy a GSP smoker, 100% of money is kept here in Australia, supporting the local suppliers communities and their families.
