Grasp Design

Grasp Design is a creative boutique studio based in Torquay and servicing Geelong and the Surf Coast, Victoria. Steve Wilson is the founder and creative director.

Steve has more than 28 years of experience in the industry. He started as a guillotine operator (not the off with his head variety) with a small Canberra print shop. Realising he had a passion for ink on paper, he worked his way up in the business as a printing press operator. From there Steve moved into pre-press, then became a junior designer in the Department of Health and Ageing. Within a few years he’d worked his way up in the organisation to be the creative director and studio manager of the creative services unit, working closely with internal and external communication professionals to produce a wide range of collateral across Government and the private sector.

From there Steve moved to Sensis as a print producer, working with designers to strengthen the key navigation elements of the Yellow pages printed books. He later worked with CSIRO as studio manager of the online communications and internal design teams, overseeing the organisation’s large and complex print and online output.

Steve has a strong working knowledge of Government and the private sector, both in senior design and studio management roles and as a client. He combines this with expert knowledge and skill on a range of design, print and online activities.

Grasp is focused on building strong client relationships and delivering high quality graphic solutions – on time and on budget.
