The Grange Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1940 and seeks to provide opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy the game of tennis either competitively or socially on both hard, grass and synthetic courts, with a special focus on the development of junior tennis in the Grange community.

The Grange Lawn Tennis Club is unique in providing Lawn, Synthetic lawn and hard court surfaces to play on.



Competition and Social Tennis


The club offers opportunities to play junior or senior team competition tennis in the local Western Districts Tennis Association.

Juniors: Boys and Girls (under 18) teams play Saturday mornings (and Friday evenings in summer for Premier and A divisions). We anticipate entering 7 to 8 teams (consisting of 4 or 5 players) for Summer 2012/13. For beginners the association may host a Hot Shots division using lower compression balls.

Seniors: Women’s and Men’s teams play Saturday afternoons over summer from 8 Oct. The club anticipates nominating women’s and men’s teams for Singles/doubles and doubles only teams.

Lawn Tennis: Summer Lawn tennis is played on Saturday afternoons for Ladies and Men.


Social: Mid-week Ladies tennis is played on synthetic courts year round on Wednesday mornings as is Men’s night tennis on Tuesday evenings.



Coaching and Junior Development

Tennis Australia accredited and experienced junior development coach David Grainger provides high quality development coaching for current or prospective players of all standards.

MLC Hot Shots sessions suitable for children aged 5-12yrs are available for Red, Orange and Green levels. With Hot Shots children learn through play, with modified equipment and court size to help players achieve results faster.

Cardio Tennis sessions are available for adults looking for a work out.

Membership

Senior, junior, family and social memberships are available. Junior membership entitles players under the age of 18 (at 1 Oct 2012) to represent the club in Fri pm or Sat am competitions and access club courts. Family membership is available to Families who have at least one child playing WDTA competition and/or undertaking regular coaching lessons with the Club coach. Social membership is available to those who only wish to access hard or synthetic court access only (ie no play on lawn courts or participate in competition tennis).
