The house was built in the 1870's by Alexander Johnson a pioneer of the area.
In its early life it was a guest house, stopover inn, but for most of its life it has been a Post Office ie for about 60 years. It became a private home in the 1960's and has been since then. It had major damage done to the roof and ist floor after a storm, the roof being torn off over half of the house and water inundation, it was left open to the elements for a time. We bought it in 2008 and the renovation began and here we are 3 years later after much hard work and many dollars finished.
