More about GosBlues

GosBlues 2016 – February 19-21 – Multiple venues in the Gosford LGA

Applications are now open for the inaugural GosBlues 2016, a free three day Gosford LGA Blues, Jazz & Roots Festival.

GosBlues 2016 is to be held over the weekend of February 19 to 21 in multiple venues in the Gosford LGA.

Presented by Central Coast Newspapers and Trad&Now, GosBlues will be centred in seven venues in the Gosford CBD with another six venues in surrounding areas.

GosBlues 2016 will start at 6pm on Friday, February 19 and will continue through to midnight on the Friday, 11am to midnight on the Saturday, and again from 11am to 10pm on Sunday, February 21.

Entry to all venues will be free but volunteer collectors will be seeking a gold coin donation for Coast Shelter at most venues.

Each participating GosBlues venue will have a PA set up with someone to operate it. It will also feature master classes and workshops in Gosford. Sessions at times when main stages are not being used will also be encouraged. Buskers in Gosford CBD are welcome throughout the weekend and an under 18s venue will run a GosBlues Youth event with winners to perform on main stages in the bigger venues.

If you are interested in performing at GosBlues 2016 send your bio, contact details and a link to your YouTube, face book or website so we can see and hear what your act is like to info@tradandnow.com. Include a postal address so we can send you an agreed payment and advise if you would like to present a workshop on any relevant item. Each booked out will have up to 4 X one hour gigs at different venues and a one hour workshop if they wish. Each act is encouraged to sell their own CDs and other merchandise and to add their CDs, on consignment, to the Trad&Now on-line shop for world wide exposure and sale.

GosBlues 2016 is seeking to present a wide variety of Blues, Jazz and Roots music giving priority to the more unusual styles. We are looking for acts that have something different to offer in order to change the present image of Blues in particular being boring chunka chunka twelve bar blues all sounding the same, or it being just like Rock ‘n Roll. Solo acts up to multi member groups are welcome.

Acts already booked include some of the most popular blues acts playing locally, Newcastle and Maitland as well as real deal performers from Tasmania and Victoria and a world class Gypsy Jazz group.
