a ‘Dance and Play’ class with Miss Renee

In 2017, we are very pleased to announce that we will be not only running two classes in Croydon but also a new one in Warrandyte with the lovely Miss Katherine!
These classes will most likely start at 10am, however full planning on days and times will also be dependent on when our Little Groovers can make it to a class.
Cost will remain $9 per class, payable by the week for Term One as everyone settles in.



This class will focus on laying the foundations of the enjoyment of dance, with less focus on technique and lots of focus on fun.

The classes will vary each week, with the addition of new props and music keeping things exciting, as well as having some ‘regular’ songs, dances and activities to help with memory building.



The classes will be planned to focus on development of:
•Confidence
•Co-Ordination and motor skills
•Balance and Posture
•Rhythm and musical appreciation
•Musical interpretation
•Self awareness
•Self esteem
•Imagination
•Recognition of different musical genres
•Memory



The classes will also aid in the social and emotional development of the ‘little groovers’ as they are encouraged to work together in groups during imaginative fun time, work in groups to make circles, straight lines, cannons, conga lines etc and also dancing solo, with partners and groups throughout all aspects of the class.

There will also be an educational twist to the class as we focus on the recognition of colours, shapes, numbers, anatomy and ‘left and right’s in all classes.

Through props, instruments and song, along with their dancing, the ‘little groovers’ will develop many skills that they will be able to transfer into other areas of their lives.



Our classes will have no set uniform, with our little groovers being able to wear whatever they want to ‘groove’ in. Leotards, leggings, little skirts, shorts, t-shirts, singlets, even fairy dresses and bare feet to start with, with discussions of ballet shoes with the mums as time goes on.

Throughout the year we will also be starting to work on some dances for our dance school's end of year concert (held in November)
