Tina and Ness decided to start a market garden whilst doing a market gardening course with SAGE in Moruya. After much deliberation, ums and ahs, they took the plunge. First task was to choose a sunny site on Ness's farm and then they had to work out how to plough the field (they don't own a tractor or any big ticket items yet). Found a local lad to dig up the soil and then the girls took over from there. OMG...after three weeks of laborious digging and forming beds...it was clear that the task was bigger than Ben Hur. But hey, look at it now :)
The girls motto is 'It has to be fun and not worth stressing about'. Well, it has been fun some of the time...no more manicures for these workers hands, some really cool tan lines in odd places (who needs tattoos anyway) a walking frame may be required after hours of back bending and our gumboots are already showing stress fractures :)
But hey...its all good fun really!
