GiantSteps

Giant Steps, located in Gladesville (Sydney) and Kew (Melbourne) operates a school and intervention services catering specifically for children and young people between the ages of 2 and 25 all with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The world leading program is trans-disciplinary meaning intensive occupational, speech and music therapies are combined with educational programs catering specifically for each individual student.

The team approach at Giant Steps provides maximum support to families through the provision of home programs, support for siblings and frequent consultation with parents and carers. Giant Steps also supports integration settings to assist the child to learn in all environments. All students engage in a full range of activities which are adjusted using a range of autism friendly strategies.

Giant Steps has had remarkable success teaching children with autism to communicate more effectively, integrating them into mainstream schools, helping them develop functional life skills and providing them the opportunity to reach their potential. The additional support offered at GiantSteps caters specifically to the needs of children with autism thereby enabling our children to achieve milestones previously thought unattainable.

Giant Steps is open to students from all walks of life, is nondenominational and does not charge fees.
