More about Genetic and Rare Disease Network

Welcome to the Genetic and Rare Disease Network’s Facebook page.

This page is for all in the WA community, including the general public, those affected by genetic and rare diseases, and health professionals.

The Genetic and Rare Disease Network (GaRDN) is a not for profit organisation based in Western Australia. GaRDN works to ensure that people with genetic and rare diseases have timely access to relevant, up-to date information about their condition and the healthcare and other services available to them in WA. GaRDN represents the collective voices of people with genetic and rare diseases, their families and carers, to ensure that they are included in health policy and strategic decision making. GaRDN aims to make health professionals more aware of genetic and rare diseases. GaRDN works to develop integrated, coordinated health care and support by stakeholders involved in the support and health care of people with genetic and rare diseases, their families and carers.

We have created this page to create awareness of genetic and rare diseases and of GaRDN and the services we offer. If you would like us to share information and promote your support group or event, please contact us.

Our goal is to connect with our members and the wider community, have an active online presence, keep the public up to date with news stories relating to the genetic and rare disease community, and to make you aware of our services.

Please note that any Facebook advertisements seen in association with this page are not supported by GaRDN and may not reflect the views of the organisation. GaRDN does not support any online or ‘do it yourself’ genetic testing.

For more information about GaRDN and referral services, please visit www.geneticandrarediseasenetwork.org.au, or contact us on hello@gardn.org.au.
