Geddes Wines

Winemaker/Owner Tim Geddes and his wife Amanda, a trained chef, bring considerable experience to the food and wine game. Tim began his career in 1992 in his hometown of Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand with three vintages as a cellar hand. The enjoyment of this experience and his curiosity led him to move directly to Australia where he completed the Oenology degree at Adelaide University. Dual vintages in the Barossa and Hunter Valley were woven between settling down in coastal McLaren Vale, where he has been a contract winemaker since 2002. By 2007 Tim leased a 500 ton winery which has become the home base for making his clients’ wines, as well as his own “Seldom Inn” range and the Geddes label, which is only made in the best years. His wines have been awarded 12 trophies and countless medals. Geddes’ long term goal is to remain boutique by sourcing distinctive small parcels of fruit from select sub-regions of McLaren Vale and turning it into wine with his own hands.
