Fremantle Counselling Service

Fergus Matthews is the principal of Fremantle Counselling Service (formally Relationship Matters). The practice has been established in Beaconsfield for more than fifteen years and specialises in individual counselling, couple counselling and family therapy for individuals, couples and families on a wide range of issues.

Fergus Matthews (BA. BSW ) is a qualified Social Worker and a professionally accredited Mental Health Social Worker. He is a highly experienced counsellor, educator, trainer and supervisor with more than twenty five years clinical practice. Fergus has had extensive experience in the mental health and rehabilitation fields where he has developed programs for the treatment and management of issues like depression, anxiety and life change.
Fergus is an accredited counsellor for Veterans and Veterans Counselling Service has had extensive experience in managing trauma issues, conflicts and stress. He also deals with stress and conflicts that develop in relationships, families and the workplace. This work can be as diverse as personal coaching, strategic planning and assertion training.

Medicare Rebates
If you are referred by a G.P. as part of MENTAL HEALTH CARE PLAN (to be completed by the GP) you may be eligible for a MEDICARE REBATE of approximately $70 on the cost of the consultation (item no.80160). This can apply for up to a maximum of ten sessions per calendar year under normal circumstances.
