More about Fordwich Town Hall

The Town Hall can be hired for weddings and similar ceremonies throughout the year. It is best suited for small events of up to 35 guests for a wedding plus the happy couple, the Celebrant, the Registrar and a photographer making a total of 40 people, the maximum number permitted under Fire regulations. The Town Hall is also suitable for meetings, lectures and presentations provided the maximum number is not exceeded.
The Town Hall is a grade II listed building built in 1544 during the reign of King Henry VII and it is believed to be the smallest and oldest in the country still in use. Fordwich is classified as the smallest town (not a village!) in Britain with its own Mayor and Town Council.
If you are looking for a venue that combines charm and history this is the ideal one for you. Located on the banks of the river Stour, the Town Hall will provide a unique and unusual setting for your special day. The Fordwich Arms, with its lovely riverside garden, is a most attractive Pub immediately opposite the Town Hall and can be booked for receptions or just drinks before or after your ceremony.
