Flying Fox Cafe

Loves any excuse to visit the park – no matter what time of day or weather conditions - rain, hail or shine. On the day we visited the Flying Fox Café it was overcast and rainy but this didn’t stop the dozens of other children climbing all over the playground at Flying Fox.

Set on the shores of Pittwater this picturesque café is the perfect destination for a family outing, whether it be for breakfast, brunch or just a coffee. This place was most definitely designed with children in mind.

The facilities are superb and you could just tell from the dozens of families visiting the same morning as us that’s it very much a local favourite.

For little bottoms the Flying Fox café has changing facilities, mini toilet for toilet training toddlers, highchairs and of course kid’s menus.

To fill little tummies (under 10 years) the Flying Fox café offers a variety of healthy options at a very reasonable price. For breakfast children can feast on Banana Bread, Buttermilk Pancakes and mini Bacon and Eggs. For lunch the Flying Fox do a special mini meal called “The Fox Box” which is filled with a choice of sandwich, fruit, juice and a treat. They also offer main meals if your little one is especially hungry after all that playing and of course they are the usual offerings of nuggets, fish’n’ chips, mini burgers and mini nachos.

For us adults the Flying Fox menu is basic, yet satisfying and offers a range of breakfast and lunch options for even the fussiest parent. The Flying Fox also serves booze if it’s been a particularly rough day!

But the “piece de resistance” is the playground. Filled with all types of swings, slides and play equipment this place is guaranteed to keep the kids amused for more than ten minutes.

I would highly recommend a visit to the Flying Fox café. They have ample room for prams and the staff are friendly and are accustomed to the odd screaming child here and there. It’s situated right on the beach and if the family is feeling extra energetic, maybe have a stroll along the water before heading home. It’s a beautiful setting.
