Flourish Tribal

Cathy Phillips is artistic director of Flourish Tribal formed and based in McLaren Vale, South Australia since 2009. Cathy has been studying and performing tribal belly dance for 15 years and was attracted to the style because of its improvised structure which provides spontaneous communication and group interaction. The style is in sync with Cathy's passion for world music, artistic expression and unique colourful costuming. In 2010 she completed the intensive professional teacher training course in American Tribal Style with founder Carolena Nericcio, and now teaches this format. Cathy has taken workshops and classes with leading international and Australian belly dancer teachers in both classical and tribal styles. She also brings experience in other dance styles including Flamenco and Contemporary Ballet.
