First Choice Food Co-op

The First Choice Food Co-op is a partnership of West Moonah Community House & Goodwood Community Centre. These two organisations operate as incorporated, not for profit organisations and are members of the Community House Network of 34 Houses in Tasmania.
The First Choice Food Co-op is proudly supported by our peak body, Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania, along with its partners in the Towards Sustainable Food Co-ops Project, Eat Well Tasmania & the Heart Foundation.
The project received funding from the State Government to enable Community Houses to partner with their community to develop projects that increase local access to healthy food.

First Choice Food Co-op is one of these projects and is a member supported, owned and governed project that operates only for the benefit of its members. As a not for profit, First Choice Co-op provides weekly $20 vegetable & fruit packs to our community that are low priced, high quality, and provide fresh and seasonal produce to people in the Glenorchy Local Government area.
Each pack provides a saving on current retail price for local fresh produce.
To access the group benefits of First Choice, individuals, families and groups become members.There are two levels of membership, concession $10 & general member $20, paid by donation, annually.
Individuals and groups can also support the work of the Co-op by becoming a Friend of First Choice via membership of $40.
