More about Fetta's Greek Taverna

George & Helen opened their first restaurant in 1975. This restaurant was called 'Mykonos taverna' and was situated Brusnwick st Fitzroy in the heart of Melbourne. It didnt take long to become the icon for greek cuisine and to alot of people it has never been replaced. It was a time when migrants and australians got together to share each others culture. They went on to open 'Ouzos taverna' in South Melbourne and 'The greek spot' at Hawthorn and 'Paralies' a restaurant / nightclub in St Kilda.

Around 1987 they moved to perth where George & Helen opened 'Fetta's greek taverna' at James st Northbridge. Before long they had captured the people of perth and still today people in perth reminise their nights of Greek cuisine and dancing. In 1997 george discovered cairns, it reminded him in many aspects of the small town he left back in Greece. He moved to cairns with his wife Helen and daughter Natalie shortly after where they then opened Fettas Cairns. Fettas has established itself as a well known and popular restaurant where cairns locals along with many tourists make Fettas their home many nights of the year. George himself worked in the kitchen for 15 years under what he describes the greatest greek chef ever met, George Lavanos.

George now shares his knowledge he was taught with other Greek and local chefs and now Natalie and Anthony will impress you with exceptional service, authentic Greek food, zorba music and dancing. Customers can enjoy a small taste of greece and its atmosphere at Fettas Greek Taverna.
