The Festival of King Island takes place the last weekend of January. It consists of warm-up gigs in the days prior to the weekend, followed by the main event at the picturesque Currie Harbour on the Saturday and Sunday.
History:
In late 2012 a young musician by the name of Kim Churchill contacted us via a facebook page focussed on helping King Island recover from the economic and social shock of closure of the 2nd largest employer on the island.
Kim asked "how can I help"... As a result he visited King Island in Feb 2013 and helped create the Festival Of King Island (FOKI). He also created a number of promotional and music videos showing off parts of King Island. The first festival was held using a small container, minimal local PA and music gear and 6 lights. We have come a long way from there.
The event continues to grow and each year attracts some of Australia's best musical talent.
