Did you know?

Research on successful and talented players in sport has acknowledged the correlation between frequency of deliberate practice and the achievement of expertise. The notion of 10,000 hours of practice being required to develop expertise is now widely understood and accepted as a valid model from which to gauge the progression of potential elite players.

All student athletes are encouraged to maintain playing commitments in their available club structures, as it will assist in maintaining the well documented hours per week required to achieve optimal results in overall performance excellence required by elite athletes at the highest levels.

Any footballer in the professional development phase (17 – 21 years of age) of their careers needs a minimum of 16 hours of performance development contact time, inclusive of a sound match related programme, whereby effective results can be realised.

For the player not identified already at the national level, ‘The FC 11 Diploma of Football’, is the only available model in Australia that will allow a player the means by which these determinants to potential success can be assisted.
