Sprouting Acres Farm

Many people ask us, ”How did it all start?” A couple of years ago our friends bought a small weekender farm 20 mins out of Gloucester. We started coming up and visiting Gloucester when they were up there and after a while we were visiting all the time, loving the peace and quiet and the county life style. We started visiting Gloucester and attending all the weekend activities the community put on such as the Gloucester Show, Chill Out Festival and Australia Day festivities to name a few and to the point one weekend we didn’t want to return to the everyday rat-race which was our lives. In 2015 we attended the ‘TREE CHANGE WEEKEND’ and got a hands on tour of Gloucester and what it has to offer and what benefits moving to the county can make. Since that weekend we both made a consecutive effort to find jobs and relocate to the country… In late 2015 this was made possible after we both picked up jobs in the town. In January of 2016 we relocated and bought our farm which was just a small house on 8 aces with little work done to maintain the property… In 2016 instead of coming and visiting the Gloucester Tree Change Weekend put together by Destination Gloucester we were able to be a part of it demonstrating that ‘City Slickers’ can make a change and what benefits moving to a rural town such as Gloucester has had on our lives. From here on in our farm is a work in progress and a part of our everyday lives…
