Eungella Shorthorns

Eungella Shorthorns are breeders of top quality Shorthorn cattle sourcing some of the best genetics in the world. We breed bulls aimed at the commercial cattleman, which are of moderate frame to meet the feedlot requirements. We have imported embryos by the top selling USA and Canadian sire CHS Royalty using some of the best dams in Canada.

Our cattle are run in a very tight commercial environment, where every cow must produce a calf every year and each is classed on the performance of its progeny. We have the following criteria; fertility, weight for age, soundness, constitution, docility, calving ease, eating quality, good udders, mothering, & meat yield, all of which the Shorthorn breed is renowned for. We breed for high marbling and the ability to lay down even fat cover.

We select our stud bulls by balanced EBV's, plenty of growth, small-moderate birth, lots of milk, good EMA & IMF, excellent temperament, along with muscle & fleshing ability. Our paddock bulls are not put in a paddock on a self feeder which enables them to forage for food. All bulls have tested NEGATITVE for PESTI VIRUS & have been VACCINATED with 7 in 1, VIBROVAX & PESTIGUARD, along with being SEMEN TESTED.

The Shorthorn breed offers market flexibility because they can be turned off earlier or grown out to Jap Ox. Shorthorns provide both the feedlot performance and the meat eating quality required.
