Bowen Therapy - The Bowen Technique is a gentle, non-intrusive hands on therapy which stimulates the body's inner ability to heal itself to be activated. This reorganisation of the musculature of the body can bring increased energy levels and pain relief.
Essentially Bowen is a non-diagnostic, non-invasive, hands-on energy release modality that has an amazing result on the body when properly applied. It appears to work at a complete, holistic level; that is, it addresses the body as a whole without paying any particular attention to the named problem.
The Bowen technique addresses all soft tissue (muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia), it also has a profound effect on the skeleton, internal organs, lymphatic system, meridians and acupuncture/acupressure points as well as releasing trigger and stress points. Bowen Therapy is therefore a physical and vibrational therapy that encourages the body to homeostasis (balance).
On a practical level it consists of a program of gentle non-invasive moves over specific points on the musculo-skeletal structure. This program of moves, when applied accurately in the prescribed manner, relaxes, realigns and re- balances the entire body. It improves lymphatic flow, aids detoxification, releases energy blocks, encourages the flow of Qi, and awakens the body's innate wisdom, enabling it to address any area of concern in its determination to achieve balance.
