Emma Lorenzin - Speech Pathologist

Emma is an experienced and energetic speech pathologist who is passionate about helping children reach their goals and ultimately their potential.Emma Lorenzin

She completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at La Trobe University and has since been working in the area of paediatric speech pathology, particularly in Specialist Education. She has experience working with preschool and primary school aged children in the areas of speech, language, fluency and communication. Working alongside occupational therapists, nurses, student wellbeing officers and psychologists has given Emma the opportunity to learn about multidisciplinary strategies and to better understand the holistic needs of children.

Emma’s experience working within a specialist school setting has given her the opportunity to work with children with diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Intellectual Disabilities. Emma also has extensive experience assessing and preparing reports for the Program for Students with Disabilities.

Emma is highly competent at implementing diagnostic assessments and interventions with children from diverse backgrounds and ages. Placing a large emphasis on family-centered practice, Emma strongly believes that parent involvement throughout therapy as well as open communication between child care centres, teachers and other professionals is vital in tailoring the best therapy for each client. She focuses on building trust with all of her clients, so they feel comfortable and confident to have a go, while having fun along the way.

She is committed to keeping up to date with current evidence based practice and therapy techniques which has seen her awarded with Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist status by Speech Pathology Australia. Emma enjoys working with families in a fun and engaging way to motivate clients to achieve their goals.
