Hi there! My name is Emily Mattingley and I’m the beauty and the brains behind Emorelia Photography. I’m a natural light artist, and I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was old enough to be trusted with one.

My foray into photography saw me photographing all kinds of dangerous animals (so if we’re out capturing your story and a snake decides to join in, you don’t have to feel guilty about running and leaving me behind) as my motto is shoot it, then run!

Once in photography ninja stealth mode, you’ll probably see me in all sorts of weird contortions you didn’t think where possible of the human body, trip over at least 3000 times, up trees, in puddles, half in the bushes or hanging precariously on the side of a body of water, just to get that perfect shot. I’ve risked life and limb to get that shot – I just don’t realise it at the time! I’m often heard using the phrase “If I fall, catch the camera, I’m cheaper to repair!” (lucky it hasn’t come to that!).

I am also a hopeless, sentimental romantic, and as a result I love shooting those little details, the moments that define who you are, whether it be just you, your family or you and your partner. I don’t just take photos, I create artwork of those divine moments between people, freezing them forever.

In the spare time between photographing and trying not to get myself killed, you can either find me singing really loud, cooking, snacking on a never-ending supply of lollies or with my nose in a book.
