Elves and Elephants

Hi, my name is Irene and I am a qualified Primary School Teacher / Special Needs Teacher / Educator.

In New South Wales I worked with a child psychologist as a Special Needs Teacher. Back in the Netherlands I gained a lot of experience working as a Primary School Teacher and as a Special Needs Teacher working with highly gifted students.
I also have experience working with children that have autism.

I like the learning and development aspect but also the time for playing and having fun.
The contact with children appeals to me. With a caring, positive approach, the transfer of security and a clear structure I create a good relationship between the children and me.
It’s very important that children feel welcome, safe and comfortable.

I have attended numerous studies over the years and hold diplomas and certificates in these. I hold current Blue Cards and First Aid & CPR certificates.

The hours of care offered depend on the parents work commitments.
Usually four days a week
(Monday-Thursday) 7.30am-5.30pm.
My Family Day Care offers care for children 0 to 6 years old.

I hope the environment that I offer makes you and your children feel comfortable, safe and happy.
Children quickly learn the routine and boundaries I have for their own safety. They also learn to play and share with others and enjoy many experiences needed in everyday life.

I offer a range of activities such as: craft, painting, drawing, Play dough, dress ups, puzzles, cars, blocks, trains, books, outside play, sand/water pit, climbing, jumping, running etc.

As a parent/guardian please don’t hesitate to ask for information on activities and experiences, philosophy, goals, developmental outcomes and achieving these for your child/ren.
The daily plan can change depending on the weather, age, stage and mood of the children in care on the day.

In family day care, I understand there are many different cultures, beliefs and learning stages. Each family is different;
I respect this and I am willing to work with parents and children to get the best outcome for all.
