Elgee Park

Elgee Park is located on the Mornington Peninsula. The picturesque property is situated at the end of Wallaces Road, Merricks North, approximately 80 km by road from Melbourne and 30 km from Sorrento.

Our cellar door is situated at the Merricks General Wine Store, open 7 days 9.00am - 5.00pm at 3460 Frankston- Flinders Road, Merricks.
Owners, Baillieu (Bails) and Sarah Myer have seen the fulfilment of a vision which began almost 40 years ago. With careful nurturing, they have created a unique place from where many award winning wines originate.

The vineyard is set in a picturesque natural amphitheatre with a northerly aspect looking out across Port Phillip Bay towards the Melbourne skyline. This scenic image is captured on our wine labels and the ideal location is expressed in the wine.

The vineyard comprises of around five hectares protected by its natural surrounds and a developed cypress hedge, creating a sheltered location. The warm aspect of this site in a cool climate region is ideal for producing premium grapes. The varieties grown at Elgee Park are Riesling, Viognier, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Elgee Park was instrumental in pioneering the early cultivation of Viognier in Australia; with original trail plantings in 1979 these mature vines now produce a delightful aromatic style wine.

Dispersed with sculptures the vineyard is not only a pleasure ground for the vines but a tranquil place to work and relax. The work is done with an attention to detail culminating at vintage with our hand picked berries.
