Elf and Oak

Hi there!

I've been sewing and creating for over 20 years. I was blessed with a wonderfully artistic mother who put me in front of a sewing machine when I was 6 years old, I haven't been able to walk away since! Sewing is in my blood and I simply love every aspect of the creation process.

Growing up I always had a fascination with fairies and everything existing in the mystical realm. I was inspired by artists such as Shirley Barber and lived a world created by J.K Rowling, praying for years for the delivery of my own Hogwarts acceptance letter! As I grew older my love of fantasy never wavered and I realised even if I couldn't conjure magic with a wand, I could infuse it into my work.. creating pieces that bring a little sparkle to everyday life.

As a girl I spent a lot of my time in our towns sewing shop where my mother worked and was the lucky recipient of many hand-me-down treasures from the other ladies who worked there, from fabric samples to beads. This sparked a passion for collecting crafting supplies, continually adding to my growing glory box. I began scowering thrift stores and garage sales, always on the hunt for pre-loved and unique materials, a sourcing method I continue today. For this reason many of my products are one-of-a-kind and always made from hand selected materials. I also love up-cycling and the idea of making something spectacular out of something that had been cast aside.

Everything in my store is made 100% by me, from sourcing materials and creating patterns, to construction and photography. My studio space is completely pet and smoke free and I always make sure any second hand fabrics are cleaned. I will admit I can be a perfectionist, but this ensures a well made and quality product!

Sometimes my interests go in other directions, which you will see between my different shop sections, but the one consistent passion is making beautiful and special items for people all over the world to enjoy :)
