The Greek word in the Bible, Ekklesia, means the "called-out ones" or "assembly," yet the translators of the King James Version of the Bible were ordered to mistranslate the word as "church" for political reasons. Ekklesia has nothing to do with a place you might go to once or twice a week. The martyred Bible translator, William Tyndale, correctly translated the common Greek word as "congregation". We are actually a called out assembly, commanded by Christ to "Go" and proclaim the gospel, heal the sick, deliver people from demons and make disciples. We are not meant to sit around in a church, being entertained but rarely seeing anyone turn to Christ or be healed. There are some obedient congregations around, and that is wonderful, but Ekklesia Online was started on 18 July 2016 for people who cannot locate such active assemblies and who could be encouraged by an online meeting point for called-out ones.
