I’m a photographer who’s passionate about making images that capture the imagination of my clients. I love Black and White and I love working with and learning lighting methods and techniques. I’m a bit of geek when it comes to technology; there’s no aspect of it that doesn’t fascinate me and drive my wife to distraction.
Before following my dream of being a professional photographer, I spent 25 years in IT. I had the privilege of working alongside some of the most generous and talented people in that field in many countries. I worked with and for companies such as Microsoft, Compaq Contracting Services, Boston Scientific, AOL, COOP Bank in the UK, DOD Australia and Ulster Bank Capital Markets to name a few. I started as a self-taught techno geek and moved quickly into project management and product delivery.
Photography was always with me and eventually I decided to leave IT behind as a profession and pursue my passion for photography. This time though, I decided not to take the self-taught road as before; I went back to school and attended James Cook University as part time Creative Arts student. Now that was a culture shock. At the end though, I had a Diploma, some great memories and a lot of knowledge and experience.
I took this one step further and joined the AIPP. Initially I joined as a student member progressing to an emerging member where I undertook the AIPP mentoring program. I became a fully accredited AIPP member in 2013.
My personal goals are to continue learning, to keep improving and always to make my clients happy.
