Ebor, New South Wales

Ebor is a village on Waterfall Way on the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales, Australia. It is situated about 80km east of Armidale and about a third of the way between Armidale and the coast. Dorrigo to the East is 46 km away with the Coffs Coast 55 km beyond along waterfall way.At the latest Census, Ebor and the surrounding area had a population of 166. In the 2006 census, Ebor and the surrounding area had a population of 160. There is a post office, Fusspots coffee shop/cafe, Fuel Station and Shop (Fuel available 24/7 self serve), Hotel/Motel and a primary school.There is a Tourist information board located near the Ebor Public SchoolThe nearest public toilets are at the Sportsground (overnight Camping Area) about 100 meters beyond the falls road on the left heading west out of the village on Waterfall Way. There are also toilets at both the Ebor upper and lower falls carpark / rest areas.There are two local walks comprising the recreation reserve of approximately 40 hectares accessible immediately south of the Guy Fawkes River bridge near the hotel. This walk follows the Guy Fawkes River south for about half of the walk. Some birdlife can be seen with typical local open grazing land and river views.The second walk is accessed from by crossing the Guy Fawkes River bridge and following the pedestrian path to the left which winds north under the bridge. This path follows closely left of the Guy Fawkes River north and meets the national park's Upper and Lower Falls paths. Numerous wallabies, kangaroos and birdlife can be seen. The Upper and Lower Falls are most spectacular after heavy rain, but can also be very picturesque with normal to moderate flows. Early morning and evening are the best times for photography.
