Eastwood Primary School is nestled in the quiet, leafy suburb of Ringwood East in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. The school has about 300 pupils who enjoy extensive and attractive grounds. Ray Symons Centre is a large multi purpose hall surrounded by native gardens. Detailed plans have been drawn up for a new school to be built on the site and stage one is well on the way. When completed the new school will be a state-of-the-art educational facility - and Eastwood will be an even more valuable asset to the community.
Eastwood is home to the first Primary Deaf Facility of its kind established in Victoria in 1992. Deaf and hard of hearing pupils attend the facility, in a full intergrated setting designed to meet the needs of the individual student. All students at Eastwood learn AUSLAN as their additional language.
