I've always been a creator of arts and crafts for as long as I can remember...even as a small child I'd be whipping up any crafty project my mom would be willing to show me. I really didn't get serious about art until the age of 14, when I enrolled in a ceramics class at Angola High...and that is when my love affair started with clay.
I went on to study pottery (if you can study clay!) at Indiana University and fell further down the rabbit hole in the ceramics world. Graduated with a bachelors in art and that was that for about 10 years. I did not touch clay again until about 2012 when I was accepted into an internship at an actual, fully functioning boutique pottery studio!
Of course the story just starts there... after learning many great things at Windmill Pottery, I went on to fulfill my dream, and I built my very own pottery studio. (complete with a wheel and a kiln even! :D) Sure it's small and messy and there is literally dried clay on every surface...but I wouldn't have it any other way!
When I'm not fillthying (is that a word?) myself in my studio, I'm cozied up in my craft room making jewellery. All of the stones I use in my jewellery are genuine semi-precious stones. I search for beads, findings (and anything else I fancy) when I travel, and bring them back to Australia where I create!
For this reason, many pieces that you see on Facebook, as well as my website, are often one of a kind. Some items I do make multiples of; are still unique in the fact that I use natural rocks and semi-precious stones... Nature chooses the patterns for me...which I absolutely love by the way! So some items I can try to duplicate a piece...but keep in mind even though I may use the same stones and style, the texture and color can vary (or not) from the original.
If you see something you like, but want in a different color, size, shape...don't hesitate to ask for a custom made piece! I love making pieces to fit my customers wants!
If anyone has tips, questions, or feedback, please don't hesitate to message me.
In the meantime, keep being creative people!
