At Early Learning Centre Templestowe, we strive to provide the very best quality care and welcome all families. The moment you walk through the door you will feel reassurance, love and care for your children from our friendly Qualified Educators. We encourage our educators to incorporate many languages in to the educational program ranging from Chinese, Japanese, Finnish and Greek. The children have created an organic herb and flower garden which they take pride in maintaining. The fresh produce is then incorporated into our menu and it teaches the children about environmental sustainability and responsibility. We offer a Funded Kindergarten program with a Qualified Early Childhood Teacher. We also offer extracurricular activities including “Jump for Joy”, a weekly incursion program that educates the children on music and movement whilst encouraging physical and social development.

We as Educators believe in working in partnership with families and communities. We believe all children have the right to an education that maximises their ability, and respects their family, cultural and other identities and languages. We also believe in recognising children’s right to play and be active participants in all matters affecting their lives. The environment that we create, the relationships that we develop, and the resources that we provide are all planned to create safe, educational and fun experiences that we can shape and extend on to help children to develop to their fullest potential. We believe that families play the most important role in their child’s development. It is essential that families and teachers work together in collaborative partnership to ensure high quality care and create consistency between home and care.

Our weekly program reflects children’s strengths, interests, skills, abilities and knowledge. We see the whole child, supporting their everyday lives and encouraging their cultural background. Children play a large role in the programming process with teachers encouraging their participation and respecting their ideas, interests and decision-making. We love to celebrate at our centre, and some occasions include Easter parade/ hunt, Chinese New Year, Australia Day celebration, Melbourne cup, Grand final day, Crazy hair day, Christmas and children’s birthday celebrations.
