Welcome to Dovetail on Overend, we're your hosts Adam and Rejoice Thomson. Several years in the making, our cafe is the result of years of our exploring the cafe scene here in Brisbane and further abroad.

Adam is well-known within the Brisbane coffee community as a prolific cafe reviewer (all reviews available on Beanhunter), and has a reputation for being fair and honest and for being passionate about helping Brisbane's cafe scene evolve. ** The title of "most famous Beanhunter personality" still goes to our beautiful and cheeky 3yo daughter Bella who has been frequenting cafes since she was born :)

Rejoice is a self-taught baking genius, who bakes most of our treats in-house at Dovetail. The majority of these are Gluten-Free, and we are passionate about providing some of Brisbane's best GF desserts, in addition to our popular all-day breakfast menu - and all dishes are available GF, with some Vegetarian/Vegan options.

We don't charge any extra for Gluten-Free - EVER!

Our space is effectively a "hole in the wall" cafe, with a beautiful and relaxing footpath dining area. We wanted to create a space that takes full advantage of Brisbane's amazing climate, so all of our seating is al fresco. Our iconic communal bench invites you to strike up a conversation with your neighbours and meet new friends. Norman Park, our suburb, is known for being family-friendly, and we designed our cafe with this in mind - so we have lots of little touches for your kids to enjoy, and of course your family dog who is more than welcome to hang out.

Everything in our cafe has been sourced from the finest quality ingredients, and we support local small businesses wherever possible. We are known for serving up some of Brisbane's best coffees - all of our coffees are sourced and roasted by Uncle Joe's Coffee Experience. We also serve specialty teas from Cartel Tea, and our own custom chocolate blend using Mörk Specialty Hot Chocolate.

We're open Tuesday to Sunday (Monday is our family day), and we look forward to welcoming you to Dovetail on Overend.
