Donnington Airshow & Country Fly-In 1979 - 1993

The Donnington Airshow & Country Fly-In was held between 1979 - 1993 inclusive at Donnington Airpark, Woodstock (40 km from Townsville on the Flinders Highway). It was North Queensland's longest-running airshow (15 consecutive years) and was somewhat unique in that it was privately financed and held at a privately-owned airpark. My parents, Ray & Doris Smith, coordinated the event 1979 - 1985 inclusive and I then coordinated 1986 - 1993 inclusive. We never made any money out of it but, as our nominated beneficiary, did assist the Near & Far Auxiliary of the RFDS to raise several thousand dollars in that time.

I am hoping that this page may help to unearth any old photos or articles about the event (we never had time to take too many photos ourselves!) and may even help to put people who were involved or attended as spectators in touch with each other. Your memories and contributions are welcome!
