Discerning Daters

Discerning Daters is the creation of Bronwyn and Sandra, who were single together for many years after their divorces. Sandra has now met and married the man of her dreams, and Bronwyn is still sure that he’s out there and they just haven’t met yet.
After too many nights at singles nights that felt like ‘meat markets’; Bronwyn would to say to Sandra “we’re just too fussy” and Sandra always replied “No we are not fussy we are discerning”.
We don’t want to give the wrong message, neither Bronwyn nor Sandra were desperate to be in a relationship, out there on the singles scene stalking single men. We are both professional, independent and successful women who understand how being in love with that equal partner enriches your life, being in love is the icing on the cake for us, and we didn’t want to give up on the idea of being in love. We are from an era that didn’t swipe right looking for a quickie to fill the weekend. We still believed in dating and love at first sight. Maybe we are just old fashioned, we say that we’re discerning.
If you are over 35 and single, you might notice that a lot of your friends are married or partnered and spend their time together, and once you aren't partnered, you lose your social group for going out and hanging out with, especially on the weekend. So as a mature and single adult, you turn to singles events.
So after trying Internet dating sites, Speed Dating, Lock & Key parties, dinners, RSVP nights and over 28s nights, as well as Meet Up and general social groups, Bronwyn and Sandra thought that they could put their singles experience to good use and started Discerning Daters.
The aim is to provide singles who are over 35 with events that are tasteful, classy and flirtatious and where they can have fun in a relaxed way (minus the meat market feel), with the potential to meet that special someone.
