Designs for Dance is a locally owned and operated home business centrally situated between Cairns and Mackay, in the small country town of Ayr in the heart of North Queensland. Machelle Slatcher, the creator of Designs for Dance has been a florist for over 30 years, a mother of a dancer who has competed in Eisteddfods and attended workshops all over NQ, Brisbane and Sydney for the past 15 years and now a mother of a dance teacher. Machelle knows firsthand having made all her daughter costumes, what is required to make the dancer feel comfortable and able to perform to the best of their ability.
Designs for Dance has been created with the dancer in mind catering for all genres of dance. We specialize in making headpieces and costumes to suit the dancer’s requirements and price range. Machelle is able to design a headpiece to match your costume, or you can design it yourself and she will make it for you. She is also able to sew you a costume just by looking at a photo, no patterns are required but of course if you have one she is more than happy to use it. Headpieces are supplied in a clear cellophane box so you have somewhere to store it keeping it clean and tidy.
