Davies Family Daycare Millbridge / Eaton

My name is Alicia Davies. I run a family daycare from my family home. I am qualified and have all the appropriate certificates including senior 1st aid training and asthma training. I love attending all new workshop, self development seminars, that are provided throughout the year that are appropriate for early childhood. These are a great benefit for both myself, and the children that attend.

I am very experienced in providing "family daycare" with 5 plus years in operating in both Eaton/ Millbridge and in Karratha. I have also worked with the Education Department and Catholic Education for several years. I have always enjoyed providing my services to families that have wanted to use a home-based setting.

I provided a fantastic learning environment that changes to suit appropriate age groups and their needs and abilities. I can be flexible to help provide a more unique and personalised service. I generally only accept 4 children per day to provide only a small group excluding school holidays. I am affiliated with YMCA Busselton Family Daycare Scheme.

Special needs children are welcome.

Normal core opening hours:

7am to 5pm, Monday through to Friday. Time may be negotiable.

However licensed 24/7 to offer negotiated hours with families and casual care to families that may require occasional casual care for out of core hours including weekends, public holidays and over night care. Shift worker families are very welcome.

Full day session: (7am to 5pm) $95.

Additional "Family Daycare Scheme levy" of $13 per child, PER WEEK. Paid to YMCA Family Daycare Scheme Busselton.

Saturday, Sunday & Overnights: $$ TBA on request.

Davies Family Daycare offers government entitlements to all families that are entitled and eligible for Child Care Benefit (CCB) & Child Care Rebate (CCR). We can also accept JET too.

Child Care Benefit is income tested. Once applied for and approved, families will be given a percentage entitlement of the full fee. Apply through Family Assistance and/or Centerlink. Not everyone may be entitled or eligible to receive Childcare Benefit.

Childcare Rebate is not income tested at this stage, however if the main caregiver is working or studying, Childcare Rebate is claimable to up to 50% off your childcare fees to a maximum of $7,500 per year per child.

Both these government’s entitlements will need to be applied for via Family Assistance and/or Centrelink before you start care. You can do this in person at their office or via telephone. You can choose if you wish to have all your entitlements paid directly to the childcare service to reduce your out of pocket expenses or you can choose to have these to be deposited directly to your self.

Davies Family Daycare preference is to have your entitlements paid directly to the service, however it’s completely up to you which way you would like to work it.

Davies Family Daycare requires your out of pocket fees to be paid weekly on Thursday’s unless prior arrangements have been made. Direct deposits are the only means of payment. NO CASH accepted unless prior arrangements have been made.

There is no requirement for fees to be paid in advance, however upon each new enrolment there will be a "BOND" of $100 per child. This will need to be paid prior to your child’s 1st day of care, usually upon enrolment. This bond will be returned to you once you choose to leave the service and all your fees have been paid up to date.

Davies Family Daycare is completely supported by the YMCA Family Daycare Scheme Busselton. They charge a WEEKLY levy fee of $13 per child. This levy is added to your weekly daycare fees as already stated above.
Daycare fees and levy are not charged when the educator is away on annual leave. Generally I have 6 weeks planned leave throughout the year. Notice of annual leave is always given with plenty of time for families to make some alternative short arrangements, if I am unable to provide a replacement for my leave.

Here are some ideas that pervious families have done when I have been away on planned annual leave:

*Used the local mainstreamed daycare centre as a casual
*Arranged for friends & family to help out.
*Taken their own annual leave or leave without pay etc to go on holidays
*Arranged for families members to visit such as grand parents.

Its not a Family Daycare carer's responsibility to subsidise childcare and there is no reason why Family Daycare should be cheaper than other regulated services. Family Daycare should be priced relative to the market and on value; if you provide a professional service it should be priced accordingly.

Family daycare educators provide and unique, quality service in a nurturing, small-group setting and their fees should be reflective of this.
