David Citer Counselling

David Citer, a pioneer of several Mental Health Programs across NSW, has been working as a Specialist Child, Adolescent and Family Counsellor and Manager for 20 years in Adolescent Mental Health Facilities.

David worked for several years at Cumberland Hospital in Parramatta, where he worked for the next five years. Most of David’s clients were Juvenile Justice clients, who were legally mandated to attend residential treatment for 3 months, under David’s clinical care and management.

David has also worked in Accident and Emergency and Community Health for various Local Health Districts, where he was responsible for counselling Children, Adolescents and Families in the aftermath of Trauma, Suicide Ideation, Drug and Alcohol abuse, Depression and Anxiety and was responsible for pioneering several group, school and parenting programs across NSW.

In the year 2007, David pioneered the unique Clinical Model of Care at Ku-ring-gai Youth Development Service (KYDS), which David managed for the next 7.5 years, establishing a plethora of early intervention school programs, parenting education, group programs and individual counselling models across Northern Sydney.

David is very excited about his new clinics in Hornsby and St Ives that specializes in Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Mental Health for 5 to 24 years old young people, which provides individual and family counselling and parenting advice. David also specializes in Drug and Alcohol, Grief and Loss, Anxiety, Depression, Body Image, Sexual Assault and Gambling.
