Profile: Darwin Human Resource & Computer Academy (DHRCA), a Registered Training Organisation for Vocational Education and Training under the Australian Quality Training Framework (National Provider number 6893), is one of the largest software training providers within the Northern Territory.

Northern Territory owned and operated, the Academy is fully committed to effective training through quality management practices and procedures. The Academy’s experience in computer software training commenced in 1986.

Since then, DHRCA has gone from strength to strength, delivering an extensive range of courses encompassing word processing, spreadsheets, databases, operating systems, desktop publishing and accounting packages in Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Daly River, Pine Creek, Jabiru and more.

Over the past 10 years, the Academy has expanded its training operations and now also offers Nationally Accredited Training courses including: Training and Assessment, Leadership & Management, Human Resource Management, Work Health & Safety, Project Management, Early Childhood Care & Education and Business Administration.

Additionally, we offer a number of one‐day courses including: Time & Stress Management, Dealing with Challenging Situations, Better Minute Taking, plus many more.

Since its inception, the Academy has gained a reputation for quality training and in 1994 was nominated for the Prime Minister’s Commonwealth Employer of the Year Award. Additionally, Ms Carole van Dijk, the Academy’s Director, was nominated for the Telstra Business Woman of the Year Award (for two consecutive years).

DHRCA is justifiably proud of the fact that students are given the best available learning experience ‐ management employs only superior, experienced and fully qualified trainers and the Academy’s training facilities, including five training rooms equipped with state‐of-the‐art computers and data show projectors, provide a fully ergonomic, multi‐media training environment.

Training at the Academy does not end with the formal instruction session – that is only the beginning. To complement its training courses, the Academy offers an After Care program fully committed to long‐term client care. By doing this, the Academy ensures that participants achieve their ultimate training goals. Trainers and facilitators at the Academy have an ongoing passion to ensure their students succeed. They are resourceful with a lateral and flexible approach to delivery and assessment.
