Dalhousie on Diggings

I am amazingly lucky. I live my childhood dream. Almost every waking minute is dedicated to agriculture on a whole range of levels.

I have been involved in farming and livestock for over 20 years. The health and welfare of my animals is my priority, but regenerative land management is my second passion and I learn more everyday!

Dalhousie is only a small acreage - 50 acres at the home farm and another 110 acres on lease in Kilmore East. I pride myself on making small steps of improvement on both properties every year towards a more holistic approach - building soil biology, biodiversity, farm infrastructure and happy, healthy creatures.

I do not run totally organically, as I will use medications such as antibiotics if my animals need them due to illness, but they are not used as standard practice. Otherwise the enterprise is minimal chemical use. I have beef on offer for sale, but am working towards lamb and goat meat sales also. And maybe even goats milk one day into the future.

My aim is for all my animals to live as happy and stress free existence as I can provide until they have that one bad day - which I manage in as quick and stress free way as I possibly can.
