I became a Personal Trainer so I can help other people to achieve their own weight loss goals. Yes, I too have been a larger person & needed help with losing some weight but I found it very difficult to achieve as I couldn’t get anyone who was willing to help me out. Why you say? Well by looking at me I bet you can’t tell that I have many physical disabilities such as:
• In 1992, I broke my tail bone - which still causes constant lower back pain.
• In 1993, I suffered spinal damage in my neck – which still cause’s constant upper back, neck & shoulder pain.
• In 2003, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis which flares up whenever it feels like causing extreme abdominal pain & making my look as though I am 7months pregnant.
• In 2011, I suffered a punctured lung where I died twice before successfully being revived & put into an induced coma for Two (2) weeks.
• From my coma I suffered permanent nerve damage in my neck which now sees me with limited feeling in my arms, wrists & hands. Sometimes I have No feeling at all. Due to this I can No longer write my own name.

BUT… can I say I DO NOT LET ANY OF THE ABOVE ISSUES STOP ME FROM ACHIEVING MY GOALS, so whatever you are struggling with, don’t let it stop you either.

In 2013 I began my weight lose journey where I lost a total of 24kgs then decided to take my goal further & wanting to compete in a Fitness Competition. Through this whole time I had many people tell me I couldn’t achieve this due to my physical disabilities. Well today I have since competed in Three (3) Fitness Competitions, where I have achieved Two (2) Third Placings & several call outs.

Now I want to help other people who have also been told “YOU CAN’T DO IT”, because with a little help/assistance, I know you can!

So, I started looking for a Personal Trainer who could help me take my fitness even further. This turned out to be very difficult as I have several permanent physical disabilities (which I have lived with for many years) and many PT's just put me in the too hard basket. Having these professional trainers telling me "No, they couldn't help me" was very disappointing, but I was determined not to give up.

In February 2014 I found One (1) PT who was willing to help me work around my disabilities. This PT helped me lose body fat, gain muscle and strengthen my weak, injured parts of my body.

With my new found strength, determination and motivation I have commenced my own studies at FIT College - the same place my Personal Trainer studied. FIT College gave my Personal Trainer the knowledge, experience and ability to happily adjust a training program to specifically suit my needs and that's what I want out of a training college, so that I can help anyone, whether they are able or disable people, to become a fitter, healthier version of themselves.
