"The Cootamundra Development Corporation will enable Cootamundra to provide a focus and support for business and community growth within the Cootamundra Shire."

The Cootamundra Development Corporation's (CDC) current role is to assist with providing information, support and promotion to all residents, proprietors and employees both in business management and community activity.

WHO WE ARE:
The CDC is governed by a Board of Directors who comprise of local business representatives and Shire Councillors who meet on a monthly basis and employ three staff members.

WHAT WE DO:

Business Assistance:
The CDC utilises its wide range of business contacts on a referral basis to assist with all confidential business enquiries starting a new business to current business owners and employees wanting to build their knowledge to assist in the growing of their business.

The CDC works closely with the Riverina Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) and the NSW Fair Trading providing office space where required for use as part of their outreach programs.

A fortnightly Business Segment is recorded by the CDC with Radio 2LF, keeping the local community up to date.

Seminars and Workshops
Seminars and workshops organised by the CDC are done so as to assist local businesses and organisations and all topics chosen have been requested by local businesses.

Secretarial Services
The CDC's wide range of professional secretarial services assists local businesses and individuals with photocopying, laminating, binding, internet access etc. The CDC specialises in CV assistance offering, one-to-one help in the preparation of resumes and covering letters.

Calendar of Events
The CDC assists with the management the Calendar of Local Events for the Cootamundra Shire Council, updating the calendar on the main street weekly, Maintenance of the Calendar involves liaising with the local community, media, Cootamundra Shire Council, Visitor Information Centre and local businesses.

Community Promotion
A weekly radio segment "Through the Streets of Cootamundra" is recorded with Radio 2LF promoting upcoming events, monthly meetings and general happenings within the local community.

Community List
The CDC encourages local service, community and sporting groups to make use of Cootamundra's Community List by contacting them after their Annual General Meetings to advise them of the current contact details to ensure the most up to date information is available on the Community List.

Cootamundra Business Awards
Organisation of the Annual Business Awards Dinner is carried out by the CDC who also prepares the forms for residents to nominate local businesses, organisations or individuals they feel qualify for recognition in the community.

Wattle Time
The CDC works closely with the Cootamundra Shire Council in the organisation of the annual Wattle Time Festivities in particular with the organising of the annual Street Parade and bringing the local community together to celebrate our iconic 'Cootamundra Wattle' just one of the things our town is most famous for.
This year the CDC successfully reintroduced the Wattle Time Garden Fair to Cootamundra's Wattle Time calendar and has already commenced preparations for the 2014 Wattle Time Fair which will be held on Saturday, 30th August 2014.

Christmas Festivities:
The CDC organises the Annual Christmas Promotion including late night shopping, the shop locally draws and the annual Community Christmas Party.
